Wd Hard Drive Problems WD External Hard Drive Problems?

WD External Hard Drive Problems? - wd hard drive problems

In need of urgent help! I had a WD 500 gig external hard drive about 5 months and has worked well until the operation is no longer within the last two days. I have my two Vista machines and they both say the same thing. It can not be detected because it is not the driver. I do not know, or a problem, because it requires a plug and play. So, if I go to Device Manager lists as unknown device. I clicked on the option in Windows, you can order on-line search but found nothing. This has not happened B4 and things of value, such as music, films, archives of school and work I have to maintain.

I have a similar problem. Use one with an internal HD / SATA / IDE to USB 2.0 adapter, or just an external (with pre-wired USB)

The most common cause (is) of any kind is a sector that are corrupt or damaged partition table / filesystem on the disk. You can use special programs to start or function of the DOS CHKDSK to fix this problem. Further work-out programs such as TuneUp Utilities, either repair the filesystem (even if it is built in a CHKDSK with any user interface)

If you do, you might need to use PartitionMagic to partition the table into the folder / System Check. His exact problem happened to me and Partition Magic in a position to find the hard drive (that includes Windows, said) unknown device and fix it.

The second most common problem is that you have a defective cable. Try to connect either a USB 2.0 port or another cable / adapter to connect to.

Ok, recently.

* You have an external hard drive that works for a while, then it says some things missing drivers.

* Here's what's for calling on your hard drive and send the missing unit responsible

Have you tried to enter the control panel and add to hardware, and follow the instructions?

I would like to try a different USB cable, the possibility has been damaged slightly, making the computer recognize difficulties, what it is.

If this does not solve the problem, then there is something wrong with the controller in the external drive. This is not a big problem, because the hard drive into an external hard drive, the same as an internal drive. So, if the driver is corrupted, simply delete the hard drive and plug it into your computer.

But they are not, but if it is only 5 months, still under warranty. You bring it to where you bought it, they hope to have a high-tech service. You may have to pay for the data retrieved, but the device is replaced without charge.
